Joseph Hopper, Ph.D.
Joseph Hopper founded Versta Research in 2009, and has served on the board of the American Marketing Association (AMA) in Chicago as Vice President of Market Research. Prior to Versta Research, he was a senior associate for eight years at a full-service public opinion and market research firm, heading up business for clients in the public relations, financial services, health care, and not-for-profit sectors.
Work for clients has included Pfizer, Kraft, Samsung, the American Academy of Pediatrics, Ogilvy PR, Wells Fargo, and Tribune Company.
From 1996 to 2001, Joe was a faculty member at the University of Chicago and the National Opinion Research Center (NORC). He headed major projects funded by professional grants from the National Institutes of Health. During his undergraduate and graduate training, he was awarded individual fellowships and research awards from Bausch and Lomb, Eastman Kodak, the International Sociological Association, the American Sociological Association, and the Society for the Study of Social Problems.
Having come from an academic background and then working in the business sector for a decade, Joe’s vision for Versta Research is to help clients understand their markets with rigorous analysis and then to help them communicate those research findings with stories that business managers and consumer audiences can use.
